What information do we collect?

If you are an educational institution, we may collect student or employee data (e.g., names, emails, phone numbers) solely to provide our training services, in compliance with FERPA. We do not collect data from students under 13 without verifiable parental consent, as per COPPA.

The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

SMS messages are sent only with consent and comply with FERPA for any student-related communications (e.g., no unsolicited messages to minors without school authorization).

If the information includes student data under FERPA, we use it only for legitimate educational purposes authorized by the school or district, such as providing our training services. We do not use student data for marketing, advertising, or any unauthorized purposes.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Our security practices meet or exceed FERPA's requirements for reasonable methods to protect education records, including role-based access controls, data encryption in transit and at rest, and incident response protocols.

Do we use cookies?

Yes (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart, understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information or any of the personal information from your clients. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. We do not share PII from student education records with third parties except as directed by the educational institution or required by law, in line with FERPA. Third-party service providers (e.g., for hosting or analytics) are bound by contracts requiring FERPA compliance and prohibiting unauthorized use.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their information at anytime by logging into their control panel and going to the 'Edit Profile' page.

For student data under FERPA, rights to access, amend, or delete records are managed through the educational institution. We will assist schools in responding to such requests.

Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Compliance with Educational Privacy and Safety Laws

We recognize that our services may involve handling data from educational institutions, including personally identifiable information (PII) from students and school employees. We are committed to protecting this data in accordance with applicable laws.

FERPA Compliance: DVI Training LLC complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects the privacy of student education records. - We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect student data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security audits.
- Parents, legal guardians, or eligible students (18 or older) have the right to inspect, review, and request amendments to education records. Such requests should be directed to the educational institution, which controls the records; we will cooperate fully with the institution to facilitate these rights within FERPA's 45-day timeframe.
- We do not use student data for marketing, advertising, or any unauthorized purposes.

If you are an educational institution using our services, we recommend including FERPA-compliant terms in our service agreement to ensure direct control over data use.

CIPA Compliance: DVI Training LLC supports educational institutions in complying with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA), which requires schools and libraries to implement internet safety measures. Our platform provides educational training content and does not facilitate general internet browsing by students. All training materials and resources are designed to be appropriate for educational use and safe for minors. We encourage schools to use our service in conjunction with their own CIPA-compliant filtering tools if applicable.

Data Retention

We retain educational data only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by the school/district, typically no longer than the duration of our agreement plus any legal retention periods. Upon request or contract termination, we securely delete or return data in compliance with FERPA.
